Edmonton Oilers News (August 15th 2010) "Oilers sign defenseman Savchenko"

The Oilers have signed defenseman Roman Savchenko to a two year deal at .475M per season. The 22 year old Kazakhstani-Russian was drafted 64th overall by the Oilers in this summer's draft. He's described as an endurable two-way defenseman with decent wheels. Nevertheless, he is believed to be destined for the AHL at least this coming season.



Edmonton Oilers News (August 15th 2010) "Oilers announce pre-season schedule"

The Oilers have released their pre-season schedule, including two away games against the Lightning and Panthers on the 15th and 18th of September, before travelling back to Alberta for two home games versus the Rangers and Islanders on the 25th and 29th of September. The regular season starts with a home and home against arch-rivals Calgary on the 5th and 7th of October.

The full roster list for camp will be released closer upon its opening date in mid-September.
