Edmonton Oilers News (February 11th 2011) "Oilers call up Cogliano, waive Stone"
The Edmonton Oilers have put forward Ryan Stone on waivers and assigned him to Springfield pending him clearing waivers. Stone have appeared in the past 3 games after being a healthy scratch for extended periods of time, but failed to impress.
The Oilers have also sent down Finnish forward Teemu Hartikainen to Springfield. Hartikainen has put up an assist in three games since being called up recently. To replace him, Edmonton has called upon the services of young speedster Andrew Cogliano, who has enjoyed success in his brief stint with the Falcons - putting up 9 points in 6 games. "I feel more confident, having playing more minutes with Springfield" commented Cogliano when he arrived in Edmonton for the home game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
"We have tried to change things up a bit lately, but still have not found the right mix to return to form" explained GM Kowalski on the moves. "Ryan was victim of a numbers game right now and we hope to give him a chance to prove himself again, either with the Falcons or with an NHL team that may pick him up."
